28 March 2022France Élévateur’s green range: an urban necessity

There is a growing need for vehicles, equipment and transport with near-zero CO2 emissions. Climate change and pollution in urban areas are some of the reasons why municipalities are adopting the Crit Air sticker. The windshields display this sticker which indicates the environmental class. They are also part of the Low Emission Mobility Zones (LEMZ), areas within which the most polluting cars are gradually banned. France Élévateur was able to adapt, in advance, to these constraints with its green range.

Breathing cities

Automobile transportation is responsible for 63% of nitrogen oxide emissions. A heavy impact that is mostly felt by the measurement tools and the inhabitants of the cities. Pollution peaks that are dangerous for health and for the planet that many communities are now trying to curb, even if it means going on a witch hunt.

Article 113 of the Climate and Resilience Act of August 24, 2021 makes the famousCrit Air sticker, which indicates the environmental class of the vehicle, mandatory for all municipalities with more than 150,000 inhabitants. Cars that pollute too much may be denied access to a city during a pollution peak. Currently,32 cities are involved, but more and more metropolises, and then medium-sized cities, will become involved. Access to urban centers will be accessible only by clean vehicles (prohibited to class 5 or non-classified vehicles).

The necessary adaptation of lifting vehicles

Operating mainly in urban areas, and often in city centers, aerial work platforms must go through this necessary adaptation. Telecoms repairs, lighting, signs… are the main missions of urban AWPs. But is zero emission really achievable for aerial work platforms? The issues are different from those of conventional motor vehicles. It is also necessary to take into account the electrical elevation part to be able to boast of this coveted appellation;

The greening of transportation and the reduction of CO2 emissions are noble goals that France Élévateur has always tried to improve for its vehicles. Today, it is a public, sanitary and ethical necessity as well as a legal obligation. Manufacturers such as FE Group must respond to the increasing demand from municipalities, rental companies and other companies committed to an eco-responsible approach.

The supply of 100% zero-emission carriers and aerial work platforms is limited. The problems faced by manufacturers are the following:

  • autonomy: how to avoid untimely recharges in the same day?
  • weight: of the elevation part and the battery
  • practicality/compactness
  • working height performance

France Elévateur, the forerunner in green products

France Élévateur is a forerunner in these issues, which have been gaining momentum in the industry for only a few years.
Since the year 2000, the environmental considerations are heard from the group. We then launched the Ecological Label, which allows us to work on the elevation part in electric mode.

Green platform

The 091 Fcce electric model came out in 2015and was a breath of fresh air: never seen before, this vehicle puts France Élévateur at the head of the green aerial work platform market. This technology still works today with all our models in the range. It even represents 35% of orders!

In addition, our green range has been expanded. To meet the growing demand, a dozen models are now available for sale and rental. Models that meet the criteria for reducing CO2 emissions.

The France Elévateur models of its green range

Mounted on electric, hybrid or gas carriers, our models mobilize the best that green technology has to offer today. For information, the model that combines the best autonomy with a reduction in CO2 emissions is the CNG gas hybrid version associated with an eco pack.

Here is the list of the models of the green range.

On light commercial vehicles:

091fcce NACELLE
091 Fcce on Nissan E-NV200 (9 m working height), electric vehicle
162TLE nacelle
162 TLE on Iveco Daily hybrid chassis cab (16 m working height)
121Fcce nacelle
121 Fcce on Renault Master ZE (12 m working height), also electric
172CPL nacelle
172 CPL Gas

172TPL nacelle
172 TPL gas on Iveco Daily gas CNG (17 m working height) or on IZUZU 7 tons 100% electric

topy 11 awp

Topy 11 on Master ZE 100% electric or on Iveco Daily gas (11 m working height)

Let us also add the 142 TLE on Iveco Daily gas (14 m working height).

On heavy carriers :

182TPM nacelle
182 TPM
182CPM nacelle
182 CPM (18 m working height) are available on Iveco Eurocargo CNG gas

Thanks to the acquisition of Movex, we are also able to offer an alternative, two models ATL12 on Alkè and ATL15 on Piaggio Gaz.

Our efficient design office allows us to create competitive technologies and to improve our green range regularly. France Élévateur equipment is improving year after year in terms of autonomy, number of cycles, but also in weight, with more powerful yet lighter batteries. With the support of our partners, we are also working on autonomy extenders.
